Jascha Heifetz, widely regarded as one of the prominent¬est per¬form¬ing artists of alone time, was born in capital of Lithuania, Rus¬sia (now known as Vil¬nius, Lithua¬nia) on Feb¬ru¬ary 2, 1901.
